GSX4000™ Advantages
Small, space-saving footprint: The GSX4000 delivers the range of features and level of reliability that carriers require for TDM-to-IP and IP-to-IP Network Border Management in a small, but powerful package.
Robust signaling support: The GSX4000 has robust IMS Media Gateway Control Function (MGCF) embedded in its processing module to integrate legacy and packet-based networks. Circuit protocol support includes ISDN PRI, Channel Associated Signaling (CAS) and worldwide variants of SS7/C7 protocols. Packet signaling protocol support includes H.323, SIP and H.248.
Carrier-class reliability: The GSX4000 is NEBS compliant and available in a redundant, as well as, a non-redundant configuration. This gives service providers the flexibility to deploy fully redundant configurations (with hot-swappable components) everywhere, or deploy non-redundant configurations in particular markets, then upgrade to fully redundant configurations as business dictates.
Toll-quality voice: The GSX4000 provides the quality of service required for IP and ATM networks. For IP, the GSX4000 supports Type of Service (TOS) bits that allow carriers to provision priorities on a call-by-call basis. Toll-quality voice is enabled using the G.711 codec. Other compressed codec’s, such as G.729A, G.723.1 and G.726, may also be used, as well as, G.729B and G.711 with silence suppression, where bandwidth is especially expensive. The GSX4000 also uses world-class G.168 echo cancellation algorithms to further assure high voice quality. This attention to quality, combined with the very low delay inherent in the GSX4000, provides voice quality that is equal to or better than the PSTN.
Easy management and back-office integration: As with other Sonus Networks IMS architecture elements, an entire network of GSX4000 switches can be managed by the Sonus Insight™ Management System. Sonus Insight provides comprehensive, programmable, easy-to-use capabilities, such as flow-through provisioning, configuration, service-level management/performance management, advance diagnostics and reporting, and OSS and billing system integration.
