Sonus Harmony™ is a three-tier architecture which simplifies, for service providers, the delivery of communications and application services across heterogeneous environments. Sonus Harmony enables scalable, secure delivery of SIP communications and applications across the widest range of networks and devices in the industry enabling service providers to quickly build and deploy cost effective new communications services.
Sonus Session Manager , represented at the middle layer of this architecture, orchestrates the different elements in a SIP-based multimedia network—including business collaboration tools, third-party apps, end user devices, and network hardware. This platform even allows federation with enterprise on premise networks to enable delivery of the hosted service, to the enterprise employees. In a real sense, Sonus Session Manager is the glue with 99.999% reliability that holds together rich media communications by:
- Integrating multimedia applications from different sources (hosted, third-party, cloud) into a seamless conversation
- Normalizing the SIP variants between multivendor, and disparate network devices (PBXs, call center solutions, session border controllers, etc.) so that nothing gets lost in translation
- Managing sessions across a wide variety of end user devices so that end customers can use whatever device they want: smartphone, tablet, laptop, deskphone, etc.
- Enforcing consistent policies (e.g., authentication, billing, call routing) for efficient delivery of differentiated solutions
