Unified Architecture and Hosted Applications

Sonus Harmony™ is a three-tier architecture which simplifies, for service providers, the delivery of communications and application services across heterogeneous environments. Sonus Harmony enables scalable, secure delivery of SIP communications and applications across the widest range of networks and devices in the industry enabling service providers to quickly build and deploy cost effective new communications services.

Sonus Session Manager , represented at the middle layer of this architecture, orchestrates the different elements in a SIP-based multimedia network—including business collaboration tools, third-party apps, end user devices, and network hardware. This platform even allows federation with enterprise on premise networks to enable delivery of the hosted service, to the enterprise employees. In a real sense, Sonus Session Manager is the glue with 99.999% reliability that holds together rich media communications by:

  • Integrating multimedia applications from different sources (hosted, third-party, cloud) into a seamless conversation
  • Normalizing the SIP variants between multivendor, and disparate network devices (PBXs, call center solutions, session border controllers, etc.) so that nothing gets lost in translation
  • Managing sessions across a wide variety of end user devices so that end customers can use whatever device they want: smartphone, tablet, laptop, deskphone, etc.
  • Enforcing consistent policies (e.g., authentication, billing, call routing) for efficient delivery of differentiated solutions

    Unlocking SIPs True Potential

Sonus session management solutions transform service provider networks by building on the existing SIP infrastructure to create a sustainable, service-based revenue model. Selling UC applications on top of SIP trunking services, for example, enables service provider to dramatically increase their average revenue per user (ARPU).

  • Sonus Harmony™ Solutions for Service Providers Integrate, Orchestrate and Create Richer Unified Communications

The Sonus Harmony architecture provides a session management framework for UC and SIP communications that orchestrates multivendor communications elements—PBXs, messaging platforms, video applications, business collaboration tools and a wide variety of end-user devices—so that service providers can more easily integrate, create and deliver unified communications. Using Sonus Harmony’s session management-based solutions, service providers can unify their hosted services with an enterprise’s premise-based communications network for a richer UC experience.
